Black holes have infinite density, which is referred to as singularity. Physics says that when you can fall in such a hole, the possibilities of coming out are very slim. Scientists know that singularities are covered in event horizons, but this need not be the case according to general relativity maths. New research suggests that we can be able to detect a naked black hole in the universe by simply viewing the ring of light that surrounds it.

Black holes are a result of Einstein’s theory of general relativity’s mathematics. According to these equations, if a group of matter crumbles into a small amount, the matter’s gravity would shrink it into smaller units until it smashes into an immeasurably insignificant point. That point is known as the singularity. The singularity’s gravitational pull is endlessly strong. It pulls the objects in a faster way more than the light’s speed. General relativity near singularity can’t forecast the upcoming course of particles —which is the physics’ main points. Without making future forecasts, physics fragment.

All singularities are covered in an event horizon, which is the distance far from the singularity. This is the point where you need to move very quickly than the light’s speed. That is why nothing can escape in a black hole; not even light cannot escape.

After the discovery that the black hole exists, it has not been easy to know if singularity formation can happen without the related event horizon. This would be a vicious place since the law of physics disintegrate that is completely reachable to the rest of the universe. The traditional black hole is safe since the singularity is covered under an event horizon such the happenings there are sealed away from the rest of the cosmos.

Naked singularities are not common, if at all; they exist. Only one way of forming singularities is known:  when a big star exhausts fuel and falls in on itself. In case this happens, the singularity obtains an event horizon naturally. A naked singularity is so traumatizing that nature does not let them exist in any way. Naked singularities can be formed, although at very extreme conditions.

As of now, no black holes have been discovered that are spinning so faster to unmask their singularities. A theoretic physicist is studying to discover whether a naked singularity can expose itself in other forms. Most theoretical studies have assumed that naked singularities only exist in isolation and not in the real universe.
